Trying to maneuver your way through high school can be a daunting task. For freshman Charlie (Logan Lerman), he begins the countdown to graduation on day one, 1,305 days and counting. The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows Charlie through his first year of high school, making friends, finding love, and dealing with personal issues that can be devastating for anyone, much less a 15-year-old.

Lerman, Miller, and Watson (the latter two play step-siblings Patrick and Sam) have great chemistry, with supporting cast members Dylan McDermott, Kate Walsh, Paul Rudd, Nina Dobrev, and Mae Whitman make for a great ensemble. This is a must-see for anyone, showing that while high school can be rough, there is a light of the end of the tunnel, and it is infinite.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is rated PG-13 for violence, drug use, and mature thematic material. Have you seen the film? Comment below, and as always, please be civil.

New Release Birb- A Fantastic Woman

A Fantastic Woman (Una Mujer Fantástica) Starring: Daniela Vega and Francisco Reyes Directed By Sebastián Lelio US Release Date: November 17, 2017 My First Viewing: March 2, 2018 A nominee for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, A Fantastic Woman stars Daniela Vega as Marina, a woman who is dealing with grief and the prejudice of those around her life after the death of her older partner.  This is a beautiful movie that is carried by Vega. She makes this movie so profoundly powerful that you feel with her through her journey, even if this is not something a lot of people can directly relate to. Marina has a difficult enough time in her life dealing with the death of her partner Orlando (Francisco Reyes), but with this being a relationship with a much older man and a trans woman, there are added layers. Between the police, doctors, and Orlando's family, Marina has a lot to deal with, but she is strong and isn't afraid to fight for what she believes ...

New Release Brib- Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Starring Eddie Redmayne and Johnny Depp Directed by David Yates US Release Date: 16 November 2018 My First Viewing: 15 November 2018 Eddie Redmayne returns in Newt Scamander and the Thirty Loose Threads David Yates returns to the Wizarding World for the sixth time in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, with a returning cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, and Ezra Miller, as well as newcomers Jude Law and Zoe Kravitz. While this film carries on the visual masterwork that many of the later Wizarding World films created, the overall story of the movie lacked any heft to the point where coming out of it, I could not wrap my head around all of the story arcs that were presented. At the end of the day, this ended up being nothing more than a set-up for the next film, and the next film, and so on and so on until either we come to a satisfying conclusion, or fans of the franchise just st...
